Arsenal move ahead of West Ham in Bacca race

Arsenal look set to enter a bidding war with West Ham United for Carlos Bacca.

"My future's in God's hands".

"I am an ambitious player, so I want to play in the Champions League and win it", Bacca told Win Sports in Colombia.

Atletico Madrid and Arsenal are thought to be contenders for the 29-year-old's signature.

Recently courted by West Ham - who he turned down - the Colombian has attracted a lot of market interest, the topic of conversation with Win Sports.

"There are offers from clubs from England, Spain, Italy, France and Germany, it is not easy to make a decision, we have time".

But Arsenal, who have also shown interest in Alvaro Morata, Gonzalo Higuain and Alexandre Lacazette this summer, could gazump Atleti with the offer of Champions League football at Emirates Stadium next season, according to reports.

The Rossoneri have already signed Gianluca Lapadula from Pescara this summer after his goalscoring exploits in Serie B last season, and so perhaps they can afford to sell Bacca with a view of reinvesting in the squad.

Bacca said it was important for him to be playing in the Champions League, which Milan did not come anywhere near qualifying for previous year as they finished 23 points behind third-placed Roma in Serie A. I want to play in it with Milan but unfortunately we didn't make that step. "My agent is in talks with those clubs and Milan".

The fact that the Gunners' will be competing the Champions League next season should surely force Bacca to consider a move to Arsenal and his €30 million price tag is one that is well within Arsenal's budget.
