Uber tests $2 flat rate fares to take on public transit

Until now, Uber customers could only request a taxi to come immediately, but they can now order a auto up to 30 days in advance.

The introduction of the scheduled ride feature - being rolled out to Uber customers across the capital on Thursday - is a big move for the San Francisco firm and one that Uber expects to resonate particularly well with business customers.

For now, Uber has limited the advance booking option to business accounts and business profiles in London.

Ride sharing giant Uber is testing out a service where you can lock in the price of your commute for as many as 20 rides in the month of September in San Francisco no matter the time or day or location.

Life's about to get a little easier for all you Uber users as you'll now be able to request a vehicle a month in advance. Users simply need to download the Uber app on their smart phones, and fill in the details for booking through the "schedule a ride" option.

Uber is adding one of the big missing features to its service in the United Kingdom: the ability to pre-book.

Now rather than have to load up and hope that there is a auto nearby you'll be able to schedule your ride by hitting the, umm, "schedule a ride" button which sits at the bottom of the screen.

London is the first city in Europe where the Scheduled Rides feature will be available after it was introduced in Seattle in June.

Wahey! Uber's just introduced its best feature yet - if you live in London that is.

The "Schedule" feature came into play for some Uber for Business users in London today.

'Whether it's having a vehicle ready at the end of a meeting or to take you to the airport, scheduling your Uber in advance means there's one less thing to worry about'.
