Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman address Goldberg amid dueling chants on WWE Raw

Surprise! It didn't work.

- After jumping last week for Goldberg's WWE return, Raw took a predictable drop in the ratings this time around. The objective of the segment was to get the fans in Minneapolis, Minnesota - which is where Lesnar is billed from - to chant for Goldberg, and even though Heyman tried to get that done, he failed miserably. He continued to tease a match with Lesnar, saying that if he was going to have one more match, he wanted it to be against "The Beast". It was actually the most awkward segment involving Lesnar since his face-to-face meeting with John Laurinaitis back in 2012, and it was, by far, Paul Heyman's worst performance since he rejoined Lesnar four years ago.

Despite Lesnar's return and this being the Hell In A Cell go-home edition of RAW, the show was #3 on cable for the night in viewership, behind the NFL's Monday Night Football and The O'Reilly Factor. Brian Alvarez also mentioned that this was not how the segment was supposed to end, and apparently Vince "pulled the plug" in the middle of Heyman's promo.

The WWE Universe reacted with chants like "Suplex City" and "Goldberg Sucks" soon enough, much to the amusement of certain pro wrestling fans, who found them to be a bit out of place. If you can remember anything else about that episode, you're probably lying. Join us next week, when they try to get Stephanie McMahon booed in Hartford!
