Sore ankle keeps Raptors G Lowry out of starting lineup

Eventually - as it pretty much always is when the Cavs play - it became the LeBron James show.

We'll see if anyone takes that offer, though, at 7 p.m. ET on Friday when the series goes back to Toronto. Toronto's Kyle Lowry is dealing with a nasty sprained ankle. The Cleveland Cavaliers went from trailing 77-72 to taking an 81-77 lead. "And we're a different team". James started the game trailing Jordan by 211 points with 5,776 points.

DeRozan said the Raptors' awful performance in both games was much tougher to stomach than the fact they're down 2-0 in the series. "We just tried to mix it up and keep him off balance, and in the fourth quarter he kind of got out of rhythm".

"I didn't know 'til late, 'til they did starting lineup, that he wasn't going to go", said DeRozan. "There was no back down".

Lowry suffered the injury in Game 2 in Cleveland when Cavs forward Tristan Thompson shoved Toronto's Norm Powell, who hit Lowry sideways as he fell.

Lowry averaged 15.1 points in 38.7 minutes per game.

"Margin for error is very small because he makes you pay with his passing, now he's shooting the three", Casey said. "He was limping badly".

He barely seemed stressed as he rolled to 35 points on 16 shots while grabbing eight rebounds and dishing seven assists in 41 fairly low-key minutes. "We've got to go out and physically and mentally do it". Now we're here again anyway.

"Our second unit guys came in and gave us a big push", James said. Bismack Biyombo wasn't there to turn to when they needed him most, and the Raptors had no one waiting in the wings to fill his shoes.

The Cavaliers had a 49-25 advantage in rebounding.

Jonas Valanciunas scored 19 points and eight rebounds, with Norman Powell chipping in with 13 points and Serge Ibaka adding 12 for Toronto.

The Cavs routed Toronto by a combined 50 points in Games 1 and 2 in last season's conference finals.

"Just sucks to see anybody go down, no matter who it was", DeRozan said. It's tough to win a game when you only make two 3-pointers.

The Cavaliers led 28-24 after the first quarter.

The Raptors managed to score only three points in the first six and a half minutes of the final period, allowing the Cavaliers to pull away. The 3-point line has been the difference as the Cleveland are outscoring the Toronto by a total of 51 points.

James (5,777 points) now only trails Michael Jordan (5,987), the player to whom he has been compared since he was a teenager, for the most points in postseason history. A running layup by P.J. Tucker capped Toronto's 22-9 run and gave the Raptors a four-point lead.

"We came in here (last year) and weren't prepared", Kyrie Irving said. "And, for whatever reason, couldn't get started".

Casey said the Raptors will be playing for pride on Sunday, not wanting to be swept on their home court.

"They're into him, they're bodying him", Casey said. "So I've got to live in the present". DeRozan's five worst playoff lines: Game 2 vs. Cleveland (five points, 18.5% from the field), Game 3 vs. Milwaukee (eight points, 0 made field goals), Game 6 2016 vs. IN (eight points, 23% shooting), Game 4 2016 vs. IN (eight points, 27% shooting), Game 4 vs. Miami 2016 (nine points, 23% shooting).

Consider that Korver and Williams weren't even with the team at the start of the season. That streak ended when Toronto beat the Cavs in Games 3 and 4 of the Eastern Conference finals, but the Raptors couldn't duplicate the feat this time around. It was a two-point game entering the fourth, even with Kyle Lowry sidelined.
