Rolf Harris to be released from Stafford Prison today

Rolf Harris will be released from prison on Friday but back in court by Monday to face a fresh trial over allegations of groping teenage girls.

Former TV star Rolf Harris has been released from jail after almost three years, Sky News understands.

Judge Deborah Taylor said to jurors Thursday morning at Southwark crown court, that Harris will be allowed bail during an ongoing trial.

Although his conviction and sentencing in 2014 was high profile news, jurors at his current case have been told of this information.

The woman, who is now in her mid-50s, told Southwark Crown Court the Australian entertainer groped her at a celebrity event in Cambridge in England in 1978.

The final charge relates to a claim that he groped the breast of a 13-year-old girl at the BBC Television Centre in 1983 and said to her, "Do you often get molested on a Saturday morning?"

Harris is accused of four counts of indecent assault dating between 1971 and 1983.

The court has heard that he told her she was "a little bit irresistible".

Judge Taylor granted Harris bail after it was sought by his barrister and unopposed by the prosecution.

Harris was released from Stafford Prison today.

She said her sister did not believe Harris had assaulted her.

"I told him to f*** off and leave me alone", she told the court. Should Rolf Harris have been released on bail?

The jury has not been told why Harris was in prison or how long he served.

The trial, which began on Monday, is expected to last for about two weeks.
