WatchOS 4 detailed: Siri, new Watchfaces, NFC expands

For more casual users, Apple has added new intelligent coaching features to the Activity app.

Apple Watch, tied for No. 1 in IDC's wearable device tracker for the first quarter, is getting more functionality via Watch OS 4. This new update in WatchOS 4 will also allow the Apple Watch to work with a Siri Watchface. According to techradar.com the Apple Watch 3, will likely be more widely known as the Apple Watch Series 3 "is a long way off yet", however rumors are swirling that the device will be the biggest name in smartwatches on the market to date. The company is expected to make several exciting announcements surrounding popular products in the Apple family including the introduction of the Apple Watch 3.

The Siri face will deliver information to the user depending on what time it is and what events the user has lined up for the day.

Apple will begin offering a developer preview of watchOS 4 today, with a full release coming to all Apple Watches this fall. For Crossfitters or triathletes there's also the ability to easilt add a different workout to the same session for those involved in multiple activities.

We expect to see the update roll out for free, so you won't have to spend any money to get the latest in watchOS software.

Apple says it is automatically syncing content from the Apple Watch it thinks you'll want to listen to, so your mixes and playlists and new albums will all be available on the Watch without you having to mess around with transfers.

With GymKit, customers using their favorite cardio equipment will soon be able to pair their Apple Watch directly to treadmills, ellipticals, indoor bikes or stair steppers from global manufacturers such as Life Fitness and Technogym with a simple tap.

Apple also introduced new summer band colours, giving customers more options to choose from.

"Toy Story" and other animated faces, but no Watch Face store: Woody, Buzz and other "Toy Story" characters are now built-in animated faces.
