Doomfist Might Finally Join The 'Overwatch' Roster

A new lore update released by Blizzard for Overwatch gave what could be the biggest clue so far that Doomfist is finally coming to the massively popular multiplayer shooter.

Ogundimu was said to have reclaimed the Doomfist gauntlet, which was the payload that needed to be escorted in the Numbani map, and then destroyed the robots in the Numbani Airport. Clearly, Talon has something to do with Doomfist, especially considering one of the earliest cinematic trailers for the game has Widowmaker trying to steal his gauntlet. Overwatch has, however, also referenced a Doomfist character whom Blizzard has labeled "the Successor", and it's likely that's Akande Ogundimu.

When Overwatch introduced its 24th hero, the robot Orisa, they first teased it with a cryptic article posted on February 21. Last Sunday, players found out that an error report contained the phrase "Overwatch Doomfist / Summer Games".

"Doomfist" is actually a moniker assumed by a number of characters in Overwatch lore, but Akande Ogundimu is not one of the previously named characters: Akinjide Adeyemi, known as "the Scourge" and Adhabu Ngumi, known as "the Savior".

Terry Crews has always been rumored to be taking the role of Doomfist, with his good buddy Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson campaigning for him. Initially, security reported that there were not any passengers on board according to radar scans.

Doomfist is not simply a name but a title, given to the wielder of the powerful Doomfist gauntlet.

"The craft passed through the range of the installation's defense systems without incident, leading some to believe that Talon has moles within Helix".

Video surveillance from within the compound showed a shadowy figure emerging from the unknown craft and proceeding through the prison grounds.

"The unidentified assailant easily overcame the Helix security agents, leaving over a dozen dead".

Here's hoping this isn't another teaser setting up a new hero who isn't Doomfist. This could lead to other potential characters somewhere down the line.

Do you think that this could be the Patch we've been waiting for, for Doomfist?
