India v/s Sri Lanka, 3rd ODI

After finally showing some fighting spirit in the previous match at Pallekele, Sri Lanka displayed some again on Sunday in the third ODI of the five-match series at Kandy. The visitors slipped from 109-0 to 131-7 before an unbeaten 100-run eight-wicket partnership between Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Bhuvneshwar Kumar pulled the team through.

A fantastic start witnessed in this match which follows a heap of wickets as well as it is a common feature with Sri Lanka's batting in this series and there are no opportunities' for the team to witness the second game.

Though Rohit might have bagged the headlines with his incredible ton, Jasprit Bumrah was rightly adjudged the man of the match for his first five-wicket haul in ODI cricket. Sri Lanka lost the plot completely in the business end to finish with 217/9 in their 50 overs.

India made no changes in the team that won the last match here.

The India vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI will be played at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele. With Upul Tharanga suspended there is every possibility that Dinesh Chandimal will be included in the playing XI.

From 113 for one in the 17th over, India was reduced to 131 for seven in the 22nd over with spinner Akila Dananjaya taking six wickets in a sensational spell.

Sri Lanka's stand-in captain Chamara Kapugedara won the toss and elected to bat but his batsmen failed to make a good start, losing two wickets for just 28 runs. Among the bowlers, mystery spinner Dananjaya will be expected to continue his fine form with the ball.

India: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli (c), KL Rahul, MS Dhoni (wk), Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal.

Security forces were called in between the match when India were 210 for four after 44 overs, to clear the spectators from some of the sections in the gallery after Sri Lankan supporters resorted to throwing bottles into the field of play. Opting to bat first, Sri Lanka were hurt by Bumrah's opening strikes but aided by Lahiru Thirimanne and Dinesh Chandimal, they recovered in parts.
