J&K: Terror attack in Pulwama, 3 security personnel killed

Eight forces' personnel, including four Central Reserve Force Personnel (CRPF) men and as many policemen, were killed in the attack.

The militants had attacked the police lines early on Saturday morning.

Two police and one CRPF personnel have been martyred in the attack.

The militants had entered district police lines in Pulwama killing four personnel each of J&K Police and CRPF. Police, CRPF and Army work force rapidly swung enthusiastically and cornered the fear mongers and guaranteed that relatives of the police staff living inside the complex were taken out to security. A terrorist group: Jaish-e-Mohammad claimed responsibility, though the identification of these three is still taking place. The fidayeen attack was launched at dawn, with the terrorists entering the camp with indiscriminate gun fire and a flurry of grenades.

Eight security forces personnel lost their lives in an encounter in Kashmir's Pulwama.

According to the official, two militants have also been killed. In the initial attack, a policeman was killed and four other personnel, including a paramilitary soldier, were wounded.

"The armed forces have suffered massive damage while militants present there are giving a tough time to the Indian troops", he claimed. "We thought it will end but it kept happening again and again", said Abdul Rashid, a resident of Pulwama town. The authorities, fearing law and order trouble, snapped Internet services across Pulwama district.

Insurgents groups have been fighting since 1989 for the Indian-administered portion to become independent or merge with Pakistan.
