The Original Xbox One Console Has Officially Been Discontinued

The launch Xbox One is officially a thing of the past as Microsoft revealed to Glixel that they have already discontinued production on the console. The tech giant confirmed this week that they will no longer make the console's launch version in favor of its new line of consoles.

It was during this month that store shelves were finally running out of the launch edition of the original Xbox One.

Past year the software giant released the Xbox One S that was white and had a trimmed look as that of a robot.

Introduced back in 2013 as the rival to Sony's PlayStation 4, the Xbox One served as the next-generation console after the Xbox 360.

Microsoft is now full steam ahead with its new system models, even going as far as to introduce a number of new Xbox One S bundles, including ones themed around Gears of War 4 (that sweet, sweet 2TB console), Battlefield 1, and, as of late, the Minecraft bundle that looks like a dream come true for some fans - although a bit ugly for normal gamers. The innovation and power behind the new Xbox One X console is driving excitement and demand among our customers worldwide.

While Microsoft's latest console is the most powerful one now in existence, its dominance might not last for very long. All in all it's the machine the Xbox One should have been from the start, and will now become the console Microsoft expects to be its holiday best-seller, due to its cheaper price point. If you can't find any to purchase, you'll need to get an Xbox One S system or wait until November for Microsoft's upcoming Xbox One X, billed as the most powerful console to release on the market.
