Chelsea target hands in transfer request, Leicester City demand £30M+

Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater should think twice about moving to Chelsea and would be better off playing regularly at another club rather than being a mere rotation option at Stamford Bridge, according to former Blues star Ray Wilkins.

Mahrez has been strongly linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium all summer after handing in a formal transfer request at the end of last season.

Drinkwater has told Leicester he wants to leave, but the Foxes are looking for more than £30m for him - considerably more than Chelsea seem to be willing to pay.

Chelsea have identified Drinkwater since the start of August as their prime target to replace Nemanja Matic, who left for Manchester United, and Nathaniel Chalobah, who left for Watford.

Kante made the move from the East Midlands club 12 months ago after he and Drinkwater formed an impressive partnership on the way to winning the most unlikely of League titles in football history.

This however has not changed the Foxes' firm stance - and valuation - on the 27-year-old.

"Tiemoue Bakayoko cost £40m this summer, N'Golo Kante is a player everybody loves and with Cesc Fabregas there as well, is Danny Drinkwater going to get a game?"

'If I was Danny I'd go somewhere where I would play personally'.
