European Central Bank suspends Stokes, Hales from worldwide duty

The 26-year-old Durham all-rounder was released without charge on Monday but remains under investigation.

England have bought themselves time to deal with Hales and Stokes, having stood the pair down from national selection indefinitely pending the outcome of a police investigation and outsourced their internal case to the Cricket Discipline Commission, the panel of which is being led by the former Derbyshire cricketer turned lawyer Tim O'Gorman.

Journalist and TV presenter Piers Morgan, a celebrity acquaintance of several cricketers, claimed on Thursday that the alleged fight occurred after Stokes and Hales had defended two gay men from homophobic abuse.

Opening batsman Alex Hales, who was with Stokes late on Sunday after playing alongside him during England's win over West Indies in the third one-day global in Bristol, has also been suspended from worldwide selection.

The troubled times have turned even worse for England all-rounder Ben Stokes.

The clip, which is just under a minute long, begins with one of the men - who is eventually knocked to the floor - appearing to attempt to strike somebody with a bottle.

Harvey has featured on television show Loose Women and was caught using the word 'c***'. Both players were dropped from the England team after footage emerged in which a man resembling Stokes could be seen repeatedly punching another man. That followed England's win in the third ODI in the southwest city on Sunday.

Ali, of Kingswood, said: "I'm not feeling great". They are adults and they have to take responsibility.

A Greene King spokesman said: "Given the ongoing police investigation, we have made a decision to stop broadcasting the IPA cricket advert, which was filmed past year and features a number of England cricket players, including Ben Stokes".

The all-rounder and Hales, who was with him when the incident happened, will miss Friday's final one-day global against West Indies at Ageas Bowl, Southampton.

No timeframe has been given on Stokes' potential future availability, but Roland-Jones - who played four Tests this summer but misses the Ashes tour through injury - believes he can handle any hostility from the opposition.
