Sony introduces Team Tournaments in latest PS4 update

Almost 12-months after the release of the original version, Sony is updating its PlayStation VR headset accessory to its flagship console machine.

Sony has announced that it will be releasing a brand new model of the PlayStation VR headset, with the updated version including a slimmer connection cable and allowing for easier headphone integration. With the new box users will no longer have to unhook the video feed cable to game on an HDR screen, which solves one of the main frustration points for PS4 Pro owners. "Your What's New feed will be updated with the activities of the users you're following, so you can easily keep up on what they're up to", Sony said in a post.

Even though it's only been a year since Sony launched the PlayStation VR (PSVR) headset, the company has announced it is now working on an updated and improved version of the unit.

Those who happen to own an HDR-compatible TV and PlayStation VR know that up until now, you'd need to disconnect the PSVR processor unit to play PS4 HDR content.

More news: Kurdish unilateral independence and a deadly impasse

With the release of a new Sony PlayStation VR headset, the company is seemingly keen to remain relevant and leading on the virtual reality market.

"The packaging for PlayStation VR will change slightly when the new model hits stores". The PS VR headset and camera bundle is still being sold for $399. Simply put, if you've an old VR headset and want HDR passthrough, you're going to have to buy PlayStation VR a second time.

The changes are the first significant updates since the original headset, which has the model number CUH-ZVR1, first went on sale a year ago.

Sony is teasing a series of "big game announcements" when it comes to Paris Games Week. The pricing for this VR Headset slipped a little. Considering the fact that, both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift requires a high-end PC to enjoy seamless VR experience.
