India, Australia to play first T20 match in Ranchi today

India dominated the ODI series against Australia with a 4-1 win to reclaim the number one ODI rankings and the hosts would be keen for a ideal finish to the T20I series.

Thus, good rains are expected to make an appearance over Ranchi during the late afternoon hours with cloudy sky conditions. Not easy for the batsmen to get under the ball. In all, his first two overs contained just three dot balls and three fours.

Talking about the Australian team, Sehwag said David Warner and Aaron Finch might cause some problems for Team India after both the Aussie openers regained their form towards the end of the ODI series.

David Warner: Time to start fresh. "They can give runs in one game, but they will always hit back", Kohli said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bowl first against Australia in the first T20 global at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi on Saturday.

Kohli-led India, which won the five-match ODI series 4-1, will aim to continue their dominance over the Australian side as the three-match Twenty20 series kicks off in MS Dhoni's hometown Ranchi here on Saturday. Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan then ran down the remainder of the target with the help of timely boundaries.

The return of the 38-year-old Nehra will be a key factor for India as the left-arm pacer would add variety to the pace attack of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah.

All-rounders Dan Christian and Moises Henriques have joined the squad for the T20 series.

Smith has experienced discomfort while batting and throwing since landing on his right shoulder during that match, thus forcing national selectors to call in Marcus Stoinis as his replacement for the T20Is.

Bumrah showed his death-bowling prowess once again when he shattered the stumps of Tim Paine and Nathan Coulter-Nile in the same over with a couple of in-swinging fuller deliveries.

The rain came down with Australia struggling on 118 for eight in 18.4 overs after being tied down by India's spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal.
