Jets can't overcome Patriots, controversial call

The touchdown machine was back in full force in New England's come-from-behind win over the Jets.

Brady, who finished 20-of-38 for 257 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, got the Pats on the board midway through the 2nd thanks to engineering a nine-play, 93-yard touchdown drive capped off by a Dion Lewis one-yard touchdown run.

The New York Jets lost to the New England Patriots on Sunday afternoon, 24-17, but the result could have gone the other way if not for a freaky, controversial call to overturn a Jets touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Their three-game winning streak is over, but the Jets (3-3) showed they can hang with a heavyweight.

Trailing by 10 midway through the fourth quarter, Jets tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins caught what appeared to be a 4-yard touchdown pass from Josh McCown. He bobbled the ball briefly, but never lost possession. If the refs had let the touchdown stand, this game could have been closer. It was a awful call. They aren't dominating teams like they used to and are facing a hungry Jets team that believe it or not, has a chance to beat them in front of their home crowd. Unlike last year's outfit, which laid down in a 41-3 debacle in New England, this group played with tenacity for 60 minutes, if not efficiency. They went 75 yards on eight plays for the score.

The journeyman quarterback became the sixth player in as many games to throw for at least 300 yards against New England's defense this season. Brady then found Gronkowski streaking across the middle and hit him on a 33-yard strike to put the Pats on top, 21-14, on the opening drive of the 3rd for the first lead of the day.

Instead, Brady drove the Patriots down the field for a touchdown.
