Saints get three defensive touchdowns to beat Lions

This win puts the Saints only one game back of the Carolina Panthers in the divisional race, a team they beat back in Week 3 to get their first win of the season.

And now they are over.500 for the first time since 2013 - snapping the longest streak in the NFL. It was still Ginn's best with the Saints, and he will look to build on it next week in Green Bay. The defense is giving up points in bunches and might actually be worse than the Saints'.

What I liked: The defense was far from flawless Sunday, as the score obviously indicates.

Wait a minute - the defensive scores did not stop there!

-The game's first score was a fumble recovery in the end zone by safety Kenny Vaccaro. Cornerback Darius Slay also recorded an interception, his third in six games.

The Lions suffered a 52-38 defeat at the hands of the Saints over the weekend. Tight end Darren Fells also had a receiving touchdown, after splashing twice in Week Five.

What I didn't like: All three units deserve blame for the blown lead. After the Lions found the end zone by picking off Saints quarterback Drew Brees, New Orleans pass rusher Cameron Jordan promptly returned the favor by way of intercepting Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford. Normally, that would be enough for a comfortable victory, but there was plenty of anguish along the Saints sideline in the fourth quarter. The Lions defense has allowed just 74.6 yards per game and 19.4 points per game.

Fantasy fallout: Although Adrian Peterson made the most of his escape to Arizona, the Saints proved why they deemed him expendable - with both running backs Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara feasting in his absence. Ingram had 25 carries for 114 yards, five catches for 36 yards and two touchdowns.

Missing on history: The Saints turned the ball over three times in the second half (two interceptions by Brees and a fumble by Ingram) - their first three turnovers of the season.
