Play me or else, warns Steelers receiver Bryant

After an Instagram user claimed Bryant was being ignored by Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, Bryant posted - and then promptly deleted - from his verified account a comment in which he claimed Smith-Schuster is "no where near better than me". And Bryant's right - the rookie is the future alongside Antonio Brown - and it's his own outlook in Pittsburgh beyond 2017 that suddenly appears like a fait accompli.

"We've invested a lot in Martavis since we drafted him".

With eight days until the National Football League trade deadline, and now with one of his teammates dragged into the mess, Bryant might be getting closer to his goal of forcing his way out of town.

Rumors have been swirling fast and furious around Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant in recent weeks.

Aim for a mid- to late-round pick from an NFC team: No way the Steelers trade him into the AFC and potentially see him in the playoffs.

No doubt this only fed to the frustration Bryant has felt since returning.

"We've invested a lot".

"He was out of bounds in some of his actions in terms of the things he said on social media", Tomlin said. "I want him to get his".

Bryant, though, after already leaving Pittsburgh in a lurch has managed to become even more volatile with his off-field trade posturing while the Steelers are starting to look like themselves again. His 1 catch for 3 yards in Week 7 only escalated the matter.

Both sides have fair points.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Bryant went to the doctor on Monday morning, according to the player's agent Tom Santanello. Although, in Bryant's case, you can't fault him for wanting the opportunity to showcase his skills.

Last week, it was dealing with the fallout from a trade request Bryant's team made earlier in the season. He should take that under consideration during time at a crossroads.

Tomlin said he would talk to the receiver about the social media posts. I just want mines, period, point-blank.

Standing at his stall in the Steelers locker room, Heyward glanced over to where Smith-Schuster was seemingly carefree, laughing as he played makeshift basketball with his teammates.
