Aaron Rodgers Has '13 Screws' In Collarbone

In a taped appearance on TBS' "Conan" that airs Thursday, Rodgers told host Conan O'Brien that doctors used "13 screws" to fix his collarbone, which he injured during the first quarter of the Packers' 23-10 loss at U.S. Bank Stadium on October 15.

And during the introductions, Rodgers just casually happened to drop some breaking news about his potentially season-ending injury: The surgery to fix it resulted in 13 - THIRTEEN! - screws in his broken collarbone.

Rodgers wouldn't elaborate when asked by ESPN to confirm the number of screws saying, "It's TV. Sometimes you exaggerate. And then sometimes, you tell the truth". On Thursday night, Conan welcomed Aaron Rodgers and his surgically-repaired collarbone on to play Assassin's Creed: Origins.

Rodgers is on injured reserve with a broken collarbone that he suffered in the October 15 Packers-Vikings game.

Rodgers has already been placed on injured reserve, meaning he's off the Packers active roster for at least eight weeks. Rodgers said the cameras never showed what Barr did. Packers coach Mike McCarthy called the play "totally unnecessary". National Football League rules don't allow players on IR to return to practice for six weeks and to game action for eight weeks.

Rodgers is now on injured reserve and could return on December 17 vs. the Carolina Panthers, but he is unsure his collarbone will be able to heal quickly enough to play at all this season.

Rodgers recently underwent surgery to fix the shoulder, and there's reportedly slight hope he could return before the end of the season.

Is Aaron Rodgers as strong at video games as he is on the gridiron? No.

The Packers have reached the playoffs every season since 2009.
