As for the guests on stage, they were even more plentiful than promised. His wife Talinda Bennington told those in attendance that her husband would have loved the spirit of the evening. He knew it saved lives, and saving lives is exactly what we plan to do in Chester's memory.

"It is time that we recognize that mental health is as important as our physical health", she said. But he then asked folks to stay updated through LP's social channels, including their recently adopted hashtag, #MakeChesterProud.

The band is billing the show as "an unforgettable night of music to honor the man who touched the lives of so many around the world". More information as to what the initiative will do, Bennington said, will be coming "soon".

Alanis Morrisette, Blink-182, Taka from One Ok Rock and M. Shadows from Avenged Sevenfold also took part alongside video tributes from Paul McCartney, Metallica and Thirty Seconds To Mars. Korn's Jonathan Davis provided vocals for "One Step Closer", while Bring Me the Horizon's Oli Sykes sang on "Crawling".
