Texans QB Deshaun Watson Out for Year With ACL Tear

The 2017 National Football League season has seen so many big name stars succumb to the injury bug, it's hard to keep track.

The Clemson head coach then went on to say, "All he did after the injury in 2014 was come back and lead us to the National Championship game twice and of course we won it previous year".

The NFL Network reports the veterans will back up Tom Savage, who will be the starting quarterback for the foreseeable future.

Earlier Thursday, Watson became the first rookie quarterback to ever win AFC Offensive Player of the Month. The 19 touchdowns are a record for a player in his first seven games, and he has two rushing touchdowns in addition to that total. Savage struggled his whole time on the field, completing only 7 of 13 passes for 62 yards and the Jaguars sacked him six times.

"This is so similar to the 2014 season, his freshman year at Clemson". He was tied for the league lead with 19 touchdown passes and had gained almost 2,000 total yards (1,699 passing and 269 rushing).

Watson tore his other ACL in 2014 while he was at Clemson, and actually played with it in a game against SC.

He had 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions on the year after his Week 8 performance against the Seattle Seahawks, which saw Watson throw for 402 yards and four touchdowns.

Whats next for the Texans?

Watson, who had a great start with the Texans, suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament on a non-contact injury at practice. With a lot more games to play, the Texans have to play hard and try to do their best if they want to make it to the playoffs.
