Sen. Klobuchar Takes Over Sponsorship of Franken Sexual Assault Bill

A group of women who worked alongside Al Franken on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" have signed a statement of support for the Minnesota senator amid sexual misconduct claims.

On Monday, CNN reported that 33-year-old Lindsay Menz from Frisco, Texas, told the network after Tweeden's announcement that she had her own "uncomfortable" interaction with Franken.

The Senator, aged 66, said he did not remember taking the photo with Menz, but felt badly that she felt disrespected.

"I take thousands of photos at the state fair surrounded by hundreds of people, and I certainly don't remember taking this picture", Franken said in a statement.

During a USO Tour in 2006, Franken took a photo of Tweeden with his hands over her breasts while she slept and allegedly forcibly kissed her while rehearsing a skit.

Over the weekend, Franken's staff said he has no plans to resign. Franken has apologized for his actions. She added, "It was wrapped tightly around my butt cheek".

Sen. Mitch McConnell said last week that the Senate Ethics Committee would launch an investigation into Franken's behavior, and he repeated this again yesterday in the wake of the new allegation by Menz.

He "pulled me in really close, like awkward close, and as my husband took the picture, he put his hand full-fledged on my rear", Menz said. It wasn't around my hip or side. A second woman also accused Franken of being a major "creeper" for allegedly grabbing her bottom while the two posed for a photo at a Minn. "I don't want to paint my story in the same light as hers", Menz said, saying she believes what happened to Tweeden is much worse.

"They agreed it would be best for the legislation and for every survivor of sexual assault for that bill to be sponsored by someone else", she told CNN. And they deserve to know that I am their ally and supporter.

"I respect women. I don't respect men who don't", he said regarding the first episode with Tweeden.
