Thanksgiving forecast: Sunny, with a side of cold temperatures

Wednesday started with temperatures in the mid- to upper-30s, but they're going to slide back into the low-30s by afternoon.

Winds will be the big story today, at times gusting up to 25 miles per hour out of the north with sustained winds between 10 and 20 miles per hour through most of the day, ushering in cooler and drier air. Skies remain mostly sunny with temperatures returning to the mid 50s and lows around the freezing mark Wednesday night.

Thanksgiving Thursday, it's mostly sunny early with slowly increasing mid to high level clouds.

The extended forecast shows the continuation of quiet weather through Saturday, with highs in the mid 50s.

The coldest air arrives Wednesday keeping afternoon highs in the 40s for much of the area.

On the cool side today as clouds make a comeback this afternoon. Areas of northern Vermont and New Hampshire could see a few snow showers. This could allow temperatures to climb into the upper-50s and possibly around 60 before we cool again late next week.

FRIDAY: Sunny, with a high near 49.

Tomorrow night: Mostly clear not so cold. But we'll still be cold early in the morning, likely into the upper 20s and lower 30s.

Thanksgiving week in the Las Vegas Valley will be "very warm for this time of year" - with highs near 80 on Thanksgiving Day - due to a high-pressure system, the National Weather Service said. The sunshine will warm us up a bit more through the day.

With no precipitation behind the front it comes through cooler but still with temperatures above normal for Saturday and Sunday.
