Trump accuses CNN of 'representing U.S. poorly'

In a weird Monday tweet, Trump said he believes there should be a contest where news outlets like ABC, NBC, CNN-but not Fox News-compete to see who has the most "dishonest, corrupt and/or distorted" coverage of "your favorite President (me)".

From the looks of Trump's Twitter, it's been a busy weekend for the president.

"The outside world does not see the truth from them!" he wrote.

As the Mueller investigation reaches closer and closer into Trump's inner circle and the media is focusing on stories about Trump's former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn possibly flipping against the president, while daily more news is reported about Trump's disastrous tax bill, he has ramped up the punches.

Donald Trump can't stop getting dunked on by news organizations. "That's yours. Our job is to report the news", adding "#FactsFirst".

Stelter said Trump's tweet, whether by design or coincidence, "reads like an invitation to undemocratic regimes around the world to harass CNN journalists with the blessing of the USA president".

CNN senior global correspondent Clarissa Ward followed that up by highlighting that she was anxious that the president's words could have a perilous impact on journalists in hostile areas of the world.

His latest tweet comes about a week after the Department of Justice sued to block AT&T's proposed $85-billion purchase of Time Warner Inc., which owns CNN.

"This guy wants to mock (CNN International), this guy who never served in the military, never got near a battlefield wants to mock CNN", Zurawik said of Trump.

US President Donald Trump has once again expressed his dissatisfaction with CNN, comparing it unfavorably to Fox News.

On Monday, the president did not have his daily intelligence briefing on his morning schedule, which may have given him time for morning show viewing, prompting his tweet. Trump once denied in a tweet that he has enough free time to watch TV.
