Has your iPhone started crashing in iOS 11.1.2? You're not alone

The bug only causes a crash when you get a notification that comes from an app, rather than from a service over the internet. Many iPhone and iPad users are reporting serious reboot and refreshing issues, on Reddit as well as Twitter. After issuing a final developer beta of iOS 11.2 to developers last night, Apple chose to take the highly unusual step of issuing iOS 11.2 to all iPhone owners to fix the crashing issues today.

When it arrives for US users, reportedly next week, Apple Pay for iMessage will provide a quick, easy way for users to send payments or request them from friends and family members. The hallmark feature for USA users is Apple Pay for iMessage, but that service reportedly won't go live until at least Monday. In addition to fixing the "December 2" bug, iOS 11.2 also adds peer-to-peer payments through Apple Pay, which lets you send money to other iOS users through iMessage. Alternatively, you can trigger the upgrade manually by going to Settings General Software Update. But iOS 11.2 is considered the second major update for iOS 11, after iOS 11.1 was released on October 31st. But like every other iOS release, some might not find the update in good taste for several reasons. The new update also improved the dedicated TV app's functionality and overall User Interface.

"Users said the issue began when the time turned to 12.15am on Dec 2", it said. Apple's mobile operating system has a bug where local notifications will cause your phone to crash. If you do not disable notifications, then your device might restart while the iOS 11.2 update is installing and cause even more problems.
