Google Assistant Rolling Out To Android 5.0 Lollipop Smartphones and MarshmallowTablets

Google is rolling out its AI assistant to tablets for the first time. Japan, Italy, Germany, Brazil, and Korea will also be getting the Google Assistant.

Specifically, it's set to appear on Android tablet devices running Android 7.0 ("Nougat") or Android 6.0 ("Marshmallow") with the rollout set to commence from this week in the US. It has been mentioned that Android tablet users in the U.S. will get Google Assistant in English language.

Called The Complete Android Oreo with Kotlin Bundle, this training bundle helps you move from desire to achievement in 105 training hours. Google Assistant has until now been available on smartphones, smartwatches, smart speakers, Android TV and more.

It may now respond to the Google Assistant.

Announced back alongside the first generation Pixel smartphones, Google Assistant was exclusive to Pixel devices.

The U.S users who have tablets running Android Marshmallow or above shall receive the update in the "coming weeks".

Further, the update is only available for devices based on the English language for India, US, UK, Australia, Canada and Singapore. While Android is the largest mobile operating system in the world, its ecosystem is way too much fragmented, with ancient Android iterations such as Jelly Bean and KitKat still running on 5.9% and 13.4% of devices respectively. The Assistant will come with all the native features like what we have seen in the latest Android smartphones.

In select countries, users can even send money via voice on Google Assistant. With the Google Assistant, the user can make phone calls, send text messages, set reminders, set alarm, and many more.

It will be coming to more languages next year, Google said.
