Woman Accused of Destroying $300K Worth of Art at Tony Buzbee's House

Lindy Lou Layman was arrested on December 23 on criminal mischief charges after allegedly damaging several painting and sculptures in Anthony Buzbee's River Oaks home.

According to local authorities, three original paintings, including two original Andy Warhol paintings valued at $500k each were damaged after Layman allegedly threw liquid at the art-work.

At the time of the woman's arrest, the damage was estimated to be about $300,000.

"Lindy Lou Layman "intentionally and knowingly" damaged multiple pieces of artwork" by Andy Warhol on December 23, said the New York Daily News. Buzbee told police Layman was too intoxicated, so he called her an Uber when they returned to his River Oaks home.

Then Buzzbee called Layman a second Uber, prosecutors said in court on December 27. Per the information read in court, Layman was aggressive toward the second Uber driver, walked back into Buzbee's home and shouted, "I'm not leaving".

At that point, the destruction of Buzbee's collection of famous art began, as prosecutors said Layman poured red wine on the pieces, tore paintings off the walls and tossed art across the room. Layman said at her probable cause hearing that she has been a court reporter for nine years, KHOU reported. She refused to leave and even hid in his home, according to the report. Attendees paid between $5,400 and a quarter of a million dollars to come.
