Packers officially part ways with defensive coordinator Dom Capers

During that span, he led two top-10 defenses.

According to a report by ESPN, the Packers will likely make more changes in regards to the rest of the defensive coaching staff. But it's been downhill over the past several seasons with Green Bay's defense ranking in the bottom half of the National Football League in three of the past five years.

Green Bay (7-9) gave up 356 yards of offense in Sunday's 35-11 loss to the Lions as the Packers finished an injury-plagued season. His teams in 2009 and 2010 ranked in the top 10 in both yards and points, improving a group that was 22nd in points allowed the year before arriving. They allowed 24.0 points per game.

This is all despite the team using its first draft pick on a defensive player in each of the last six years. He previously served as the defensive coordinator for the Steelers (1992-94), Jaguars (1999-2000) and Dolphins (2007). He also was Jacksonville's defensive coordinator for two seasons before becoming the first head coach for the Texans. He also was the secondary coach for the New England Patriots in the season before joining the Packers.
