As President Muhammadu Buhari prepares to make a presentation on corruption in Africa, report says the continent loses $148 billion a year to the scourge.

The 30th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) will take place from 22nd to 29th January 2018, under the theme "Winning the Fight against Corruption: A Sustainable Path to Africa's Transformation".

Speaking on the sidelines of the 30th AU Summit in Ethiopia, Nnadozie, the AU's specialised agency for capacity development, said the amount of money Africa was losing through corruption might have been seriously underestimated.

"What that tells you is that the whole continent is looking at the good work that our president is doing, pushing back and fighting corruption effectively". It seems that Rwandan President Paul Kagame will come after President of Guinea Conakry Alpha Conde as a chairman of the union, and observers expect that reforms will be launched during his term.
