Army Camp in Sunjwan attacked, Two Army personnel martyred

Earlier two army officers and as many militants were killed and nine persons including army men suffered injuries as fidayeen on Saturday wee hours attacked an army camp at Sujwan area of Jammu.

The minister informed the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly that Subedar Maganlal and Subedar Mohammed Ashraf were killed in the attack by a group of militants.

They said militants may be affiliated to Jaish-e-Mohammad's Afzal Guru Squad. Security forces have cordoned off the area and educational institutions within half a kilometre radius of the camp have been shut down for the day.

The district administration of Jammu has asked schools within 500 meters of the camp to remain closed.

Lt. Col. Devender Anand, the Jammu-based spokesman of the army, told media outside that camp's main gate that the terrorists had entered the camp after an exchange of fire with a sentry near the family quarters at the rear.

In the initial attack, Subedar Madan Lal Chowdhry, his daughter Neha, and Lance Naik Bhadur Singh were injured. They are increasing. If not stopped, they will act as a shelter for terrorist organisations. The government has issued an alert in the entire region.
