Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Hands-on

Smartphone Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, which we've all been waiting for has finally officially presented, and in this world, he came not alone. With its launch in India later this month, the Mi TV 4 will be the first Xiaomi TV to be sold outside China. All this is because the company has about 57% shares in the online market segment in the country.

Xiaomi has launched the two variants of the Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphone in India.

Since its entry in the Indian market in 2014, Xiaomi has been primarily engaged in smartphone manufacturing.

With a 5.99-inch 18:9 display that takes up nearly the entire front surface, Redmi 5 Plus provides a much larger viewing area compared with traditional 16:9 screen displays.

Xiaomi had a phenomenal 2017 in India where it dethroned Samsung to become the major smartphone brand towards the end of fourth quarter and IDC says its shipments tripled year-over-year.

"The display is similar to the Redmi Note 5 Pro with a 5.99" FullHD+ display and under the hood, it runs on a familiar Snapdragon 625 processor. The company has launched two variants of this device each with different RAM and onboard storage.

Xiaomi has also developed PatchWall, an operating system for smart televisions to connect to set-top boxes of multiple kinds. This device is pre-installed with Android 7.1.1 and is powered by a 3300mAh non-detachable battery. It features micro USB port to recharge the device and there is no fast charging option available on it. In terms of colors, both the devices will be available in four colors letting you choose from either Black, Rose Gold, Blue or Gold. Screen features are the same as Redmi Note Pro 5, and mass less than 1 g. The phone has a Snapdragon 636 processor and it is the first phone in the world with this processor. You can have it with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM which comes with 32GB and 64GB of storage respectively. There are 4GB as well as 6GB RAM variants. The device comes with the first dual-camera setup in a Redmi device. The 12MP camera has f/2.2 aperture while the 5MP camera has f/2.0 aperture.

On top of that, you can get the Redmi Note 5 Pro with up to 6GB of high-performance LPDDR4X RAM. Based on Artifical Intelligence technology, the Redmi Note 5 Pro is capable of identifying facial features and offers several thousands of enhancements including shaping & toning, optimization for group shots, and perpetuation of bindi and bears. Positive overall, but suggested Note 4 users to consider an upgrade to the Pro and not the Note 4 (Dont go for the Note 5).

Both rear and front cameras feature Beautify 4.0 which have been optimised for India using deep learning. It has a frameless design with 4K resolution.

As for its users, the TV will contain content from Hotstar, Voot, Sony Liv, Hungama Play, Zee 5, Alt Balaji, The Viral Fever, etc., and 80 percent of the content will be free to access. A 55-inch LED TV of the company will cost Rs 39,999, and Jain said that the company may assemble/source the TVs locally as the business grows.
