Apple announces March 27th education-focused event in Chicago

The company has sent out invitations to an event to be held on 27 March 2018 at a Chicago high school. The event is being hosted at Lane Tech College Prep high school in Chicago, so it's a safe bet it'll be education focused.

We won't have to wait until June for Apple's next big media event.

As for what we might see at the event, you can certainly expect software, such as improvements to Apple's Classroom app.

The inky, stylized stroke on the event's invitation could also suggest new updates to the Apple Pencil, the company's one and only stylus built to be used with iPads. Last year, for instance, it released Product RED versions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, along with new Apple Watch bands and a $329 iPad.

Apple is holding an event on March 27, possibly to release new hardware products. This year's event will have a strong focus on education, but as far as if or what new gadgets will be revealed - there's only speculation. But on the other hand, we've been hearing rumors of new iPads being in the works, and an education-oriented event seems fit for their announcement.

The invitation looks as if it was drawn with an Apple Pencil on an iPad, so let's go with that: Apple may be planning to announce new iPad models and maybe an updated Apple Pencil.

Apple most recently launched an updated iPad Pro at WWDC a year ago.
