Steph Curry could return this Friday versus the Hawks

The Warriors are now 3.5 games back of the Rockets for the No. 1 seed in the West, but have an 8.5-game cushion over Portland for the No. 2 spot.

All-Star trio Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson are all now sidelined with injuries and it has seen the shorthanded Warriors struggle to function.

Without Curry in the lineup, the Warriors have lost four of their last six games and are just 11-9 without him for the year.

"The two-time MVP will have his right ankle re-evaluated on Tuesday".

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has targeted Friday's game against the Atlanta Hawks to make his return from a sprained right ankle. He only played two minutes on March 8 and hasn't played since, but the Warriors don't play again until Friday, and it sounds like Curry should be ready to play in that one.

The attrition in Golden State continues. When it was assumed that Curry, Durant and Thompson would all be out on Sunday, it wasn't a stretch at all to chalk that game up as a likely win for the Jazz.

According to previously stated injury timelines, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson should still be out for the game, so Curry won't have almost as many weapons around him as he's accustomed to. He did not travel with the club for its three road contests.

With the postseason, the defending champions are being cautious with Curry.

Curry was physically able to play - and actually pushed to return - last weekend, according to league sources.

Golden State only has 11 games remaining on their schedule. He is averaging 26.3 points, 6.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds so far this season.
