Burj Khalifa marks Pakistan National Day

Pakistanis celebrated on Friday their National Day with a military parade in the capital, Islamabad, showcasing short- and long-range missiles, tanks, jets, drones and other hardware.

Indian diplomats and army officer Sanjay Vishwas Rao were invited to watch the Pakistan Day military parade in the federal capital on Friday.

On the evening of 23 March, Pakistan Day Reception was held at Hotel Hyatt Regency. Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena was the guest of honour at the event. Various aeroplanes belonging to Army Aviation and Pakistan Air Force demonstrated aerobatic feats for the audience.

The special performance by the Jordan military band was the highlight of the day in which troops from Turkey and UAE also participated.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of participants from various walks of life including members of the Sri Lanka Pakistan Friendship, Trade and Investment Association, Sri Lanka-Pakistan Business Council and the Pakistani community based in Sri Lanka.

The other who witnessed the event include Pakistan's Defence Minister Khurrum Dastagir, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Navy Chief Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi and Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee Zubair Mehmood Hayat.

Spectacular joint military parade marks Pakistan Day

Thousands chanted "Long Live Pakistan" as Pakistani air force jets flew over, showing off the country's air power, and paratroopers jumped out of helicopters. The national flag was hoisted on major government buildings.

He reiterated that the only solution to the Kashmir issue is providing the right of self-determination to Kashmiri people, and Pakistan will continue to play its role in this regard.

Han Changfu extended warm congratulations on behalf of the Chinese Government on the 78th anniversary of the passing of Pakistan Resolution. "But our commitment towards peace should not be mistaken as our weakness", he said, further accusing India of repeatedly breaching the ceasefire violation at the Line of Control.

He paid tribute to the founders of the nation for their efforts for the creation of Pakistan, and emphasised the importance of peace and stability for the country's progress.

The president spoke about the situation in Pakistan, saying peace was destroyed in the country in the last three decades.
