Family of four on vacation found dead inside a condominium in Mexico

KCCI reports that the bodies of Kevin Sharp, 41, and Amy Sharp, 38, along with their young children, 12-year-old Sterling Wayne Sharp and 7-year-old Adrianna Maria Sharp were discovered late Thursday night (Mar. 22) inside a condominium they were renting.

"There appears to be no signs of trauma", Ver Meer told the news station. "They have not been in contact with family or friends since LAST Thursday night after reporting that they made it to their condo safely".

Authorities said there were no signs of violence and the victims, a couple and their two children, showed no visible injuries, though the corpses were already decomposing.

The Creston Police Department in Iowa, where the family members were reported missing around noon on Friday, would not comment on the cause of death, noting that it was awaiting the results of autopsies being performed in Mexico.

It's not known how the family, from the USA state of Iowa, died.

A family friend who posted the news of the Sharp family's death on Facebook said in response to a question on the post that the cause of death was "potentially" carbon monoxide poisoning, but authorities have not confirmed or even suggested carbon monoxide as the cause.
