ICE detainee escapes from JFK Airport

A Detroit man who was set to be deported on Tuesday night escaped custody at New York's JFK International Airport.

Reports state that Mohamadou Lamine Mbacke, 31, flew into NY from Detroit, where he was scheduled to depart Tuesday night on a flight to his home country.

ICE agents removed the handcuffs for the security screening process, removing an obstacle for his escape. "He was not taken into custody in the airport by the Port Authority Police Department". He was last seen wearing either a black or purple shirt, jeans and a pair of sneakers.
