Putin says willing to meet Trump whenever US is ready

The Kremlin leader did not miss an opportunity to thumb his nose at the club of leading industrialised democracies, saying that the combined purchasing power of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation -which includes Russian Federation and China - outstripped the G7.

On the June 12 summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korea leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore, Bloomberg reported Mr Putin said both Russian Federation and China agreed on the need for peace on the Korean Peninsula.

Trump has said he was open to having a summit with Putin, who United States intelligence officials have said directed Russian meddling in the 2016 election to help Trump win.

At the G-7 gathering in Canada on Friday, Trump suggested that Russian Federation be offered a seat at the "negotiating table" of the organization, which was previously called the G-8 before Russian Federation was ousted for annexing Crimea in 2014.

The two leades agreed that as all-weather strategic cooperative partners and close friends, Pakistan and China have always stood by each other and would continue to further strengthen this time-tested relationship.

Trump will skip part of the summit on Saturday as he travels to Singapore to meet with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un in hopes of resolving the North Korean nuclear crisis.

Trade, investment and development cooperation issues will also feature prominently at the SCO, Murphy said, given the climate of "rising anti-globalization and strains on global multilateral economic institutions", stoked by Trump's nationalist "America First" policy.

On the prospect of a third World War, Putin said that the threat of mutual destruction has always restrained participants of the worldwide arena and prevented leading military powers from making hasty moves.

Founded in 2001, the SCO also includes the former Central Asian Soviet republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Trump reiterated his belief that he has been tough on Russian Federation, before calling for President Vladimir Putin to be given a seat at the table with the small group of influential world leaders.

The US withdrawal, he said, "can further destabilize the situation" but Russian Federation is in favor of the "unconditional implementation" of the pact.

Speaking to reporters in Qingdao, China, Putin said that some nations, including Austria, have offered to host his summit with Trump, should they have one.

Despite those comments, Putin reportedly said he's willing to meet with Trump, "as soon as the US side is ready". I think it would be good the United States.

But no disharmony was evident during the 2-day summit in Qingdao.

Xi, whose government is locked in tough negotiations with the United States to avoid a trade war, said World Trade Organisation rules and the multilateral trading system should be upheld to build an open world economy.

US President Donald Trump pulled Washington out of the 2015 global pact with Iran that placed limits on its nuclear programme in return for the easing of economic sanctions.
