Harry Maguire, Anthony Martial, Willian

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Manchester United star Anthony Martial, according to the Times (h/t ESPN).

Jose Mourinho has his eye on England defender Harry Maguire but time is running out for the Manchester United manager to make his move.

Without their World Cup stars back in the fold the beginning of the Red Devil's pre season tour to the United States hasn't been great with two draws against American opposition, a 1-1 and a 0-0.

Maguire continued to forge a reputation as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League last season and he carried that form in to the World Cup as he was one of England's star performers en route to their semi-final appearance in Russian Federation.

Valencia has been United's regular right-back since Mourinho took charge at Old Trafford in 2016.

"Mourinho's side are now just 11/10 to sign the Leicester defender, having been available at 10/1 a few days ago".

The report says Leicester are trying to tie Maguire down to a new long-term contract worth £75,000-a-week but know he could leave as the defender could earn far more at United so they're already on the look out for potential replacements.

The Leicester City centre-back shone brightly in the Premier League last season and his exploits during the World Cup in a Three Lions jersey has seen his popularity soar even more.

The report suggests that Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo have all had enquiries this season while Claude Puel of Leicester is also keeping tabs on a couple of players who could replace Maguire.

However, ESPN also claimed that Mourinho would be happy to let Martial go, though he may have to persuade United's Executive Vice-Chairman, Ed Woodward, who is supposedly leaning towards keeping the France global.
