Luka Modric wants showdown talks over Inter Milan move

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has told Inter Milan that they would need to splash out €750 million if they want to sign Luka Modric.

Luka Modric could also be set to depart the Bernabeu, with reports in Italy claiming the Croatian midfielder, the victor of the Golden Ball at this summer's World Cup, could move to Inter Milan. They will join up with their teammates later next week, when Julen Lopetegui and his squad return from their International Champions Cup in the U.S.

Real are unsurprisingly not considering letting him go following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo - but Modric may force their hand.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has revealed that Luka Modric is available to interested for clubs for £670m.

Modric captained his country to the World Cup final in Russian Federation, after playing 43 games for Real Madrid last season, which concluded with Los Blancos claiming their third straight Champions League title. If a deal doesn't materialise for Modric, Madrid will feel obligated to offer the midfielder an improved contract.

"The only possibility that leaves Modric is by paying €750m", the Real chief told Marca.

Modric's star rose to new heights this summer in Russian Federation as he helped lead Croatia to the tournament final, where they ultimately fell 4-2 to France.

The deal is unlikely to happen, however, one hopes that if Modric does indeed want a pay rise that the club would be more willing to give it to him.

Modric, who won the Golden Ball at the World Cup, is in favour of a move after being at Real Madrid for six years.
