Ryan Giggs dismisses Jose Mourinho replacement talk backs Manchester United response

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs says that Jose Mourinho remains "the right man" to manage the Premier League giants.

But the United midfielder said they could not afford to start panicking despite claiming the players were at a loss to explain the Spurs defeat. "It is a tough time at the moment, but we have had tough times before and got through it".

It's the first time since the 1992/93 season - the inaugural Premier League season - that United have lost two of their opening three matches.

The Special One suffered his heaviest ever home defeat as a manager last night as Tottenham ran out 3-0 winners at Old Trafford. It is a hard time but they have been through tough times before'.

The Daily Mail were among those to lead on the taunts from Spurs fans towards Jose of "You're getting sacked in the morning", while the Express picked up on Mourinho's refusal to discuss United's lack of summer activity in the transfer window. "I hope we come through it sooner rather than later and I'm sure we will in the next game".

United were crushed at Old Trafford.

The same newspaper also suggests that if Mourinho were to lose his job, the number one target to replace him would be Zinedine Zidane.

"It's always mentally, can you get that rest, and I feel good, I feel fine".

Rojo has not featured for United since the 1-0 win over Watford on May 13 and his return is a welcome boost for Mourinho, who saw Phil Jones limp off with a hamstring injury against Tottenham.

"Three for me and two for them", he said, referencing Pep Guardiola and Manuel Pellegrini's English top-flight titles.

Some food for thought for chief executive Ed Woodward.
