Latest Apple tech includes new watch that can detect your heart problems

The XS starts at $999, the XS Max starts at $1099, and the XR starts at $749.

If you need a brand new iPhone but not willing to spend more than RM4,000, Apple has also announced a cheaper version that's called the iPhone XR.

The iPhone XS and its bigger sibling, the XS Max, have been launched as successors to the iPhone X. Both phones, though distinct in sizes, sport similar "Super Retina" custom OLED displays, have dual rear camera setups, and the A12 Bionic processor comes as standard on each.

During the launch event, Apple's Phil Schiller said the new phones are 'incredible'.

All information can be found on the Apple Ireland website here.

The devices don't have a home button and feature Face ID in lieu of a Touch ID fingerprint scanner.

Apple iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will be available in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB capacity models in space grey, silver and a new gold finish starting at Rs 99,900 and Rs 109,900, respectively, through Apple Authorised Resellers.

Elsewhere at its event in California, Apple introduced the fourth generation of its Apple Watch, with even greater focus on health and wellbeing. It will be available for pre-order starting Friday and ship Friday September 21.

The Watch now contains an electrical heart rate sensor which enable it to carry out an electrocardiogram (ECG), something Apple's Jeff Williams said was a first in a smartwatch. This feature gives users a heart sensor on their wrists as it can detect irregular heartbeats.

The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are the first Apple smartphones to get dualSIM support.

CEO Tim Cook and other executives announced the latest Apple hardware updates in front of a packed room of media members, analysts, special guests and employees.

It's been a whole 4 years since Apple last redesigned their smart watch, and now, Series 4 has arrived.

"But the next "big one" - a success and growth driver on the scale of the iPhone - has not yet been determined".

The chip also contains a "next-generation" Neural Engine that aims to bring the power of machine learning to photo editing and augmented reality apps. "Or something else entirely?"

Research firm IDC expects worldwide smartphone shipments to decline 0.7 per cent in 2018 to 1.455 billion units, with growth likely to resume as 5G devices become available. Apple seems confident in the Watch's bonafides as a fitness product, and -while fitness helped establish the device in the wearables market - anyone can make a fitness tracker.

"We are about to hit a major milestone".

"This is astonishing - iOS has changed the way we live".
