Mr Watson said: "We decide our manifesto in the first few days of a general election, there are a lot of things you need to factor in, the prevailing economic climate, the whole packages in there".

Deputy leader Tom Watson was even firmer.
He stressed it was not yet party policy to have a second vote, saying: "That is not the view Jeremy and I take, what we have said and still want the conference to support is that there is a meaningful vote in Parliament on the Brexit deal and if we can't get a meaningful vote then there should be a general election".

Speaking to Sky News" Sophy Ridge at the Liverpool conference, Mr Watson said that it would be "inconceivable' for the Labour leadership to go against the wishes of its party members if they voted for Labour to formally back a second referendum over Brexit.
"I think we can reach an agreement where there is a freedom of trade across the Irish border and across the Irish Sea".

Mr Corbyn said there would be a vote on the issue at conference, but added he was not sure exactly what question will be put to delegates.
And in doing so, the friction between the political and industrial wings of this new-look Labour is likely to increase.
Labour's conference starts today as a YouGov poll revealed 86% of members want a second referendum on the United Kingdom leaving the EU.
"There is a lot of resentment, a lot of bitterness which I don't think will be very easily dispelled and there may be some Labour MPs who eventually leave on the basis of anti-Semitism issues", Fielding said.
