Kavanaugh’s "Renate Alumni" Yearbook References From Georgetown Prep Are Being Scrutinized

Harvard Law spokespeople twice declined to comment and once did not respond to the Crimson's multiple requests for clarity on whether Harvard will allow Kavanaugh to continue serving as a Lecturer on Law.

Supreme court nominee Brett Kavanaugh testifies before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, U.S., September 27, 2018. "This is about the integrity of the Supreme Court", she said.

The panel voted to recommend the embattled Kavanaugh to the full Senate on the condition that the final floor vote not take place until after the FBI conducted a background investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct confronting the nominee.

On Thursday, the committee listened, captivated, as Blasey Ford, a California psychology professor, declared that she's "100 per cent" certain it was Kavanaugh who tried to sexually assault her during a house party in Maryland in 1982. In an editorial on Thursday, America magazine, a Jesuit publication, called for Kavanaugh's nomination to be withdrawn.

With the sexual misconduct allegations that have emerged this month, Kavanaugh's nomination has become enmeshed into a wider national debate over sexual misconduct in many corners of American life. Again, emails now released in record release actually show Kavanaugh discussing an early version of this program, making it hard to deny - though he does - that he was lying about his involvement with that shady program.

Ford recounted an incident she vividly remembers of a drunken Kavanaugh and best friend Mark Judge forcing her into a bedroom at a small house party and attempting to rape her.

She wrote, "Had [Kavanaugh] simply told the Judiciary Committee that he partied in high school/college, sometimes to excess - but still denied the assault - these commentaries would be net neutral".

"I thought today that he evaded questions", she said.

Then Ms Gallagher said: "I was sexually assaulted and nobody believed me".

Flake said he, Delaware Democrat Chris Coons and others agreed to ask for the broader Senate to delay a final vote for no more than a week to allow the Federal Bureau of Investigation to look into Blasey Ford's allegations of being sexually assaulted by Kavanaugh when the two of them were teenagers.

Sumer Ghazala, a first-year law student, said some students felt they had a special responsibility to speak out because of the school's connection to Kavanaugh. They are irreconcilable with the yearbook, many witnesses, & my clients. "We were 16", an angry Kavanugh said to Whitehouse. "I didn't tell anyone, and you're telling all women that they don't matter, that they should just stay quiet because if they tell you what happened to them you are going to ignore them".

Sean Hagan, who was a Georgetown Prep student at the time, told the Times that Kavanaugh and his teammates "were very disrespectful, at least verbally, with Renate", and said, "I can't express how disgusted I am with them, then and now". Dolphin, however, says she thinks "Brett must have me confused with someone else, because I never kissed him".

The yearbook seemed to disrespect a woman named "Renate", who in the page Kavanaugh said he was an "alumnius" of. "Don't look away from me", she said.

Three of Kavanaugh's former classmates at the law school who previously endorsed the judge's nomination have since rescinded their support and said the allegations warrant a "fair and credible investigation".
