Dez Bryant will get his chance at revenge with the Saints

Bryant, a first-team All-Pro selection in 2014 and three-time Pro Bowler, hasn't played football since being released by the Dallas Cowboys during the offseason, following a slip in production the past two seasons.

The NFL's best offense got even better on Wednesday after the Saints agreed to terms with Dez Bryant. "I know he'll help their team". "If somebody's new, you have a clean slate and you embrace that person because now they're your teammate".

Immediately Bryant jumps onto the depth chart as the Saints' second-best receiver behind Michael Thomas, meaning for the first time in his career, Bryant won't be relied on as a No.1 receiver. He had previously turned down offers from the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns.

After waiting nearly three months into the season to sign a contract, Bryant, 30, is walking into an almost ideal situation in New Orleans.

In New Orleans, Bryant will likely be a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver along with promising rookie Tre'Quan Smith, who posted 11 catches for 196 yards and 3 touchdowns over the past four games after Ginn was injured.

For a player with 531 career receptions for 7,459 yards receiving and 73 touchdowns in eight seasons with the Cowboys, that scenario works in the Saints' favor.

The Saints also have yet to receive consistent production from Cameron Meredith, a former Chicago receiving leader who was acquired in free agency, but who also is trying to come back from major knee surgery that wiped out his 2017 season.

The Saints face the Cowboys in Week 13, giving Bryant a matchup against the team that drafted him with the No. 24 pick in 2010, and the only franchise he's played for until now.

"They're getting a great receiver". Really happy for him and that opportunity.

I'm guessing those in the Big Easy aren't going to like this.

New Orleans knew it couldn't go deep in the playoffs without shoring up their defense backfield, hence the trade for Apple ahead of the deadline two weeks ago. I think at the start of the season, we weren't in that position, and then all of a sudden a couple of guys get nicked up and there becomes a place for him.
