Did President Trump Just Prepare America For a Manafort Pardon?

Paul Manafort, Donald Trump's one-time campaign manager, violated his plea agreement with federal prosecutors that avoided a second trial earlier this year, said prosecutors in a new court filing on November 26.

Trump tweeted Tuesday that he thinks the media "builds Bob Mueller up as a Saint". He is doing TREMENDOUS damage to our Criminal Justice System, where he is only looking at one side and not the other.

Rudy Giuliani, who represents Trump in the Russian Federation probe, said Mueller's team had crossed an ethical line between a search for the truth and exerting too much pressure on Manafort. Mueller now says Manafort has been lying to prosecutors, so the deal is off. Mueller had delayed to see how well Manafort cooperated.

Trump believes the FBI should have seized the DNC's server as part of its investigation, despite the fact that investigators do not need it to obtain the information they need.

"Wait until it comes out how horribly & viciously they are treating people, ruining lives for them refusing to lie", he wrote on Twitter, adding that Mueller is a "conflicted prosecutor gone rogue".

Even though Mueller's team alleges he's breached his plea agreement, Manafort must comply with the prosecutors' demands going forward.

"The Phony Witch Hunt continues, but Mueller and his gang of Angry Dems are only looking at one side, not the other".

The rupture in relations may have dire consequences for Manafort, 69, who sought to avoid spending the rest of his life in prison by pleading guilty to two conspiracy counts after a jury convicted him of bank and tax fraud. Let these awful people go back to the Clinton Foundation and "Justice" Department!

Monday's court filing did not go into detail about what exactly Manafort allegedly lied about, and the special counsel said it would submit a more detailed sentencing submission that "sets forth the nature of the defendant's crimes and lies, including those after signing the plea agreement" at a later date.

A trial scheduled for September in D.C. included charges of money laundering, failing to register as a foreign agent, and obstruction of justice related to his work as a political consultant for Ukraine while it was headed by a Russian-aligned president. In a separate case, his potential sentencing under federal guidelines has not yet been calculated, but prosecutors previously said he could spend up to 10 years in jail.

Mueller on Monday accused Manafort of violating his plea agreement by repeatedly lying to federal investigators.

Trump also criticized the cost of the ongoing investigation.
