US Senator Elizabeth Warren Announces Move For 2020 Presidential Run

According to The New York Times, Warren launching her presidential exploratory committee means she's starting to raise funds and hire people for major positions on her campaign.

For instance, CNN's Chris Cilizza, who barely attempts to hide his cheerleading for anyone who opposes President Donald Trump, responded to the announcement with a piece titled "Did Elizabeth Warren miss her chance?"

With her video announcement declaring that "America's middle class is under attack", the 2020 Democratic primary now begins in full force.

With an exploratory committee, Warren can now openly ask for donations as she explores a run for president.

Fugelsang reacted a whole two years later by saying, "If Elizabeth Warren is "Pocahontas" I guess you're Custer". "While Warren is an effective and impactful senator with an important voice nationally, she has become a divisive figure".

Ms Warren is likely to face a crowded field of Democrats including Senators Kamala Harris, Corey Booker, Kirsten Gillibrand, as well as former Vice President Joe Biden.

Exploratory committees are a common tool that provide a legal and transparent framework for candidates to travel, fundraise, conduct polling and engage in other political activity as they weigh the decision to launch a campaign. The fact that Liz Warren did worse than Hillary Clinton in MA suggests that perhaps she's a below-par candidate. It was clearly an attempt to put to rest an old controversy that had dogged her dating back to her 2012 campaign, when her past claim to Native American heritage was cast by Republicans as an attempt to obtain unwarranted Affirmative Action.

Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell seemed to scold Warren for breaking the rules and said to his colleagues, "She was warned". Even they don't want her.

It made no mention of a recent Warren stumble: her October decision to release results of a DNA test that said she probably had a distant Native American ancestor.

On Monday, Senator Warren released a video in which she outlined her vision of a path to opportunity for all Americans, not just the wealthy.

That Warren finally chose to get a DNA test and release it was an unmistakable sign of her 2020 intentions, but it also went poorly.

To return to the example of Mr. Jones' poll, if he had decided against running for office, he would not have to disclose who paid for his poll or how much he spent on it. President Barack Obama considered appointing her to run the new bureau but then passed on her. Warren ran for the Senate instead.

Born in Oklahoma City, Warren was the first member of her family to graduate from college after completing high school at age 16. In a statement posted to Twitter, Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr. stated that a DNA test is "useless to determine tribal citizenship".
