Kevin Hart says he is 'done' with Oscars conversation

Later that day, Hart quit ― and apologized for the homophobic tweets. "It gets no more energy from me".

Asked about the controversy during an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America" on Wednesday, Hart refused to elaborate further on his apology or how he may have evolved in the years since tweeting homophobic comments.

No. I'm not hosting the Oscars this year.

"It's hard to predict what can happen", Hart continued. Some things are just left out of your hands, so I'm done with it. It remains to be seen how that will come together, but Variety says this year's plans include key changes that will require less time from a host anyway, so the absence of one may not be as strongly felt. "In the future, if it does, it does".

"I will say this, and I want to make this very clear".

Addressing the controversy over his did-he, didn't-he apology, Kevin continued: 'I say I'm done with it. For the last time, I am done addressing this. "There's no more conversation about it". I'm over the moment. So I'm done with it. "I'm over it. That's where I'm personally at". I'm not saying how I've changed anymore.

Later on "GMA", Hart opened up about his new movie, "The Upside" and how wonderful it was to work alongside Bryan Cranston, saying his co-star has simply perfected his craft. I'm not giving no more explanation of who I am. You're talking about two weeks that I would have to prepare, ' he said. "No, they weren't "haters" who came after you". "If it's not, there's nothing I can do".

"It shows me that there is no ending to it".

Hart was named as host of the 2019 Academy Awards show on December 4th of a year ago but stepped down amid the controversy of homophobic jokes.

Hart apologized in December for "insensitive words from my past" and told DeGeneres last week in an interview on her talk show that he does not "have a homophobic bone in my body".

Thoughts, Perezcious readers? Are we collectively letting go of this controversy, or does Kevin need to prove he's honest in his apology just a bit more? In that, you go, fuck! This is wrong now.

"Now we're in a space where I'm around people of the LGBTQ community, and I'm now aware of how these words make them feel, and why they say, 'That shit hurt because of what I've been through'". He added, "The Academy, they're unbelievable people".

Hart's apology is what ruffled people's feathers in the first place with many asking if the popular comedian is really honest.

The "Deal or No Deal" host pointed out how even stars that did a great job (shoutout Ellen DeGeneres and Jimmy Kimmel!) still received negative backlash.
