Marshmello’s Fortnite concert was the biggest ever, with 10 million reported players

However, you must first visit the Showtime venue (in Pleasant Park) in order to unlock the Keep It Mello emote.

Masked dance music DJ, friend of Ninja, and host of his own cooking channel Marshmello played a live concert in Fortnite this weekend. Marshmello included a concert poster which dated the event at 2 p.m. ET, and can be found in various locations around the Battle Royale map.

Unlike simply "livestreaming", last-night's concert let gamers interact with the music, by dancing and emoting.

Those who missed the event will get to enjoy a repeat performance at 11pm Pacific Time.

Keighley's announcement means that Fortnite's concert in Pleasant Park might now be the most attended concert in history, as the current World Record holder is Rod Stewart's 1993 New Year's Eve show in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with over 3.5 million people in attendance.

Following the brief show, Marshmello (real name: Christopher Comstock) took to Twitter to thank the game's developer and all the fans who participated. The 15-minute pre-recorded concert featured Marshmello's biggest tracks set to a an impressive laser light show that also included CGI mascots, props and pre-recorded footage that displayed on the giant video boards. Do that, and you'll net a Marshmello-themed spray for yourself.

So how did Epic pull this massive event off?

"Fortnite" is known for their skins and emotes that can be bought with the game's currency called V-bucks. Marshmello though had instant credibility because he was part of the Fortnite experience (and of course being masked is a flawless brand fit).
