Russian Federation calls on US to formally recognize no collusion with Trump

Attorney General William Barr has made his determination about Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

Mueller was appointed special counsel of investigation into alleged Russian interference into the 2016 election. Barr said the constitutional question of whether a sitting President can be indicted did not influence their decision not to bring charges against Trump.

Democrats pointed out that Mueller found evidence for and against obstruction and demanded to see his full report. Furthermore, the almost unlimited scope, resources, and subpoena power of the Special Counsel has allowed his team to fully pursue any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation. Rob Portman. "I hope the Attorney General provides as much information to the public as he possibly can, as soon as he can".

According to the letter, the Mueller report did not reach a conclusion as to whether Trump had obstructed justice, a focus of the special counsel's inquiry, stating that it does not conclude the president "committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him".

Barr has previously voiced a broad view of presidential powers, and in an unsolicited memo last June he cast doubt on whether the president could have obstructed justice through acts - like firing his Federal Bureau of Investigation director - that he was legally empowered to take.

The source said the sensitive discussions between Justice Department officials and the special counsel team, and the determination that a subpoena would not be pursued, were based on the perception of the evidence and merits of the issues - separate and apart from the fact that current department policy dictates that a sitting president can not be indicted. "He wasted millions of our tax dollars for nothing", she said, before offering her assessment of Trump: "He's as clean as the driven snow".

The decision on whether to release the Mueller report to the public rests with Barr, who has to decide if it's in the public's best interest to read it.

For President Donald Trump, the fight over the "witch hunt" is only just beginning.

"Over the course of 22 months, Special Counsel Mueller's investigation resulted in charges against 37 defendants, seven guilty pleas and the conviction of a Trump campaign associate", she said in a statement late Sunday afternoon.

Federal investigations - notably by the Southern District of NY - are ongoing into hush money payments and the Trump inaugural committee among others, and in the Democratically-controlled House of Representatives probes into Trump will continue.

The two Democrats also said Trump's declaration that the report is a complete exoneration of the president because it clears him of colluding with Russian Federation "directly contradicts the words of Mr Mueller and is not to be taken with any degree of credibility".

The new landscape leaves Democrats on Capitol Hill and on the presidential campaign trail facing a more complicated path forward.

On the question of whether the president might have sought to obstruct the high-profile investigation, Mueller's team did not offer a definitive answer.

"The American people have a right to know", they said. "I will admit my feelings for Mueller are conflicted now and my sexual attraction to him is in peril, but I still believe there is a lot more to come, and we must all march in the streets if we don't see that report", wrote Chelsea Handler.

Facing pressure from the base to dig deeper into Trump's personal and professional issues, Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill are mounting their own far-reaching congressional probes into the Republican president before and after he took office.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said in a statement that Mueller's findings confirm the president's account that "there was no effort by his campaign to conspire or coordinate with Russian Federation in its efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election". Courtesy of the special counsel, there is more than enough prima facie evidence to pursue many investigations into the Trump Organization's business dealings. "Given Mr. Barr's public record of bias against the special counsel's inquiry, he is not a neutral observer and is not in a position to make objective determinations about the report".

Trump says the payments to Daniels and McDougal were a private matter unrelated to his campaign. It is still not out of the question that Mr. Trump's disturbing deference to Russian President Vladimir Putin is repayment for the Kremlin's help during the presidential race.

Instead, Barr said, Mueller laid out the evidence he found on the subject.
