Trump claims he wasn't seeking pre-election health care vote

In this September 5, 2017 photo, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., right, listens as President Donald Trump speaks during a meeting with Congressional leaders and administration officials in the Roosevelt Room of the White House in Washington. After Trump said last week he wanted to try again to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, McConnell faced a revolt from the ranks.

Democrats countered that Trump, in conjunction with McConnell, has jammed the Senate with a set of historically unqualified nominees and broke with traditions of previous administrations, of both parties, in consulting with senators from the other party on many appointments.

"Vote will be taken right after the Election when Republicans hold the Senate & win back the House", Trump wrote.

But Trump has put two new judges on the US Supreme Court and when it comes to lower courts, as HuffPo has pointed out, "Republicans have already confirmed 37 circuit judges during the Trump presidency, more than any president has gotten through by this point in his first term".

President Donald Trump, a Republican, has pledged to deliver a better healthcare system than Obamacare if the Supreme Court tosses out his predecessor's signature domestic achievement.

Trump said on Tuesday he and Republicans would draw up a new healthcare plan ahead of the 2020 election and implement it soon afterward. They also limited debate to two hours, but that move expired at the end of that Congress after Democrats lost control of the Senate in the 2014 elections. He didn't want to cede the issue again in the 2020 campaign, according to a person familiar with the conversations who was not authorized to speak publicly.

Trump, however, doesn't appear to have much hope in brokering a deal with the Democrats.

"It's a disaster what they're planning and everyone knows it", he told reporters in the Oval Office on Tuesday. John McCain's "no" vote that killed the repeal-and-replace effort.

Republicans' Texas. U.S. lawsuit rips away health coverage from 20 million Americans.

Last week, the Trump administration told a federal appeals court it wants the entire Affordable Care Act struck down, an outcome that could leave millions of people uninsured.

But other Democrats, McConnell said, indicated behind the scenes that they could support the rules change provided that it wouldn't take effect until the next administration. "At a time when Leader McConnell brags about confirming more judges than anyone has done in a very long time, he feels the need to invoke the terribly destructive and disproportionate procedure of the "nuclear option" in order to fast-track even more of President Trump's ultra-conservative nominees to the federal bench", Schumer said.

Central to the Republican replacement of Obamacare is going to be protecting people with pre-existing conditions. He blamed Democrats for dragging their feet on a variety of noncontroversial candidates simply because they were nominated by President Trump.

"I've been rebuffed for two years; not a single Democrat has been willing to join us", Lankford said.

"I think we should test out Republicans' willingness to support some of the most aggressive reforms proposed by the president", Murphy said at an AXIOS event in Washington on April 2.
