Assange could be kicked out of London's Ecuador embassy within hours

Mr Assange took asylum at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London in 2012 as authorities in Sweden tried to extradite him for questioning in relation to sexual assault accusations.

"Mr Assange has violated the agreement we reached with him and his legal counsel too many times", Moreno said.

The Ecuadorean government, however, has said it believes the WikiLeaks organisation shared the photos that depict a lavish lifestyle and date back several years, to when Moreno and his family lived in Geneva, The Guardian reports.

"It is not that he cannot speak freely, it is not that he cannot express himself freely, but he cannot lie, let alone hack into accounts or intercept private telephone calls" under the terms of his asylum agreement, Mr Moreno said.

The WikiLeaks founder sought the protection of Ecuador in 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden, where he faced rape allegations, or the USA, where he could be punished for publishing secret government documents.

Assange says he fears being extradited to the United States where he could face charges relating to the publication of hacked government documents on the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Kristinn Hrafnsson, a spokesman for Wikileaks, said that Mr Assange would be forced to leave.

He remained in virtual house arrest in the embassy in order to avoid another extradition bid, this one to the United States, who are keen to prosecute him over the publishing of a massive cache of State Department and Pentagon files in 2010. In an unrelated case, federal prosecutors in Virginia, said that "no other procedure is likely to keep confidential the fact that Assange has been charged".

The INA Papers are a set of documents which have implicated Ecuadorean President Lenin Moreno in alleged criminal activity, including corruption and money laundering.

Last month, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, which is linked to the Organization of American States, rejected Assange's request that Ecuador ease the conditions it has imposed on his residence in the London embassy.

While there has been no official confirmation, in November 2018, an administrative mix-up in the USA justice department-that saw Assange's court filing apparently submitted in error-indicated that the WikiLeaks founder's suspicions may indeed be true. Jennifer Robinson, a lawyer for Assange, declined to immediately comment.

In October, the Australian-born WikiLeaks founder had complained Ecuador was violating his "fundamental rights" and he was living in an "inhuman situation". He challenged the rules in local and worldwide tribunals, arguing they violated his human rights.
